Thomas James Mooney Sr

Thomas James Mooney Sr passed away November 6, 2024 in Longview Washington. He was born on October 6, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Frank and Madeline (Tibbetts) Mooney. The family lived in several places, but settled in Banks, Oregon in Tom's teen years where he graduated from Banks High School. Tom married his wife Dorothy (Porter) Mooney on August 8, 1955 in Astoria, Oregon, then settled in the Clatskanie area in 1965. Tom worked for Wauna Mill for 28 years until he retired in 1998. Tom enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He loved gardening; especially vegetables and beautiful flowers. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Thomas Mooney Jr, and Dale Mooney, daughter-in-law Candy Mooney, grandchildren Tony Mooney, Amy Mooney, and Robert Mooney. Tom is survived by his wife Dorothy at home, and his daughter Sharon (Doug) Jordan. Grandchildren Carrie (Mark) Crape, Jeremy (Yvette) Jordan, Jason (Angela) Jordan, Christopher (Savannah) Mooney, Kyle (Ashley) Mooney and Chaz Mooney. Great-grandchildren Amber (Jonny) Hollis, Erica Settle, Hunter Settle, Shaun Jordan, Ashley Jordan, Austin Jordan, Jazmine Jordan, Ember Mooney, Kinsley Mooney, Abigail Mooney and Jackson Mooney. Great-great-grandchildren Jayden Settle, Grant Hollis and Stella Hollis due at the end of November. Tom is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well. There will be a private graveside service for immediate family at Murray Hill Cemetary.
