Sharon Louise was the oldest of four girls born to Jack and Betty Zimmer on June 3, 1949 passed away on December 30, 2023.  Clarice (Ray) Anderson, Leona Zimmer, Jackie (Steve) Nichols would follow with John (Jennie) Zimmer coming much later.
Sharon graduated from Rainier Union High School in 1967.  She would meet Dennis Gortler and they would marry in November 1968.  They would welcome their first daughter Kimberlee (Jim) O'Brien in December 1970.  Sharon enjoyed being pregnant with Kim at the same time as her mother Betty, who was pregnant with John.  Sharon and Dennis would welcome their daughter Amy (Randy) Lewno in December 1971.
Sharon enjoyed traveling to Central Oregon and rock hounding with family.  She would also travel to Central Oregon for many hunting trips.  She was a member of the St. Helens Women's Bowling Association, Longview Women's Bowling Association, the WIBC, Cowlitz Coin Club, and President of Wong's Berry Patch Row Boss Association.
Sharon loved to crochet.  When she broke her hip and was in a rehabilitation facility, she set a goal for herself to crochet 100 stocking hats and donate them to the local schools for the children.  She surpassed that goal by over 200 hats.
Sharon has four very special grandchildren, Maggie (Edwin) Rullan, Dennis O'Brien, Rylee O'Brien and Gage Lewno.  Sharon loved to spend time with her grandchildren, whether it be at sporting events or family functions.  She also never missed an opportunity to let the umpires and referees know when they made a wrong call.
She also enjoyed going to Anderson Island and Neskowin with her siblings playing games and arguing over who was the better player.  Another of her favorite pastimes was playing Bingo with all of her friends.
She will be dearly missed.  If you would like to make a donation in her name please donate to Rainier HOPE or Eden Healthcare.
