Mary Margaret Tucker

Mary Margaret Tucker, 86, of Rainier, Oregon, passed away on January 12, 2025, at the Richard Nau Hospice House in Longview, Washington. Born on April 28, 1938, in Casper, Wyoming, to Harold and Ann (Brennan) Edwards, Mary's family moved to the Rainier area in 1944. She graduated from Rainier High School in 1956.

Mary met her husband, Leslie Tucker, and they married on September 11, 1971. He survives her at home. Mary worked as a bookkeeper at the State Bank of Rainier for several years. She and Leslie were active members of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.

After retiring from banking, Mary enjoyed volunteering at St. John Hospital and as a reading tutor at Rainier Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers, William and Jack.

 In addition to her husband, Leslie, Mary is survived by their sons, Peter and John Tucker; her brother, Robert (Carrie) Edwards; her sister-in-law, Laritta Edwards; her grandson, Elijah Tucker; and her granddaughter, Cassidy VanSambeek, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 1 PM, followed by a social at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Rainier. The Tucker family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Richard Nau Hospice House for their compassionate care in Mary's final days.
