Larry Thomas Harkleroad of Knappa, Oregon passed away on December 16th, 2024, in Vancouver WA.

Larry was born August 24, 1948, in Portland, Oregon to Don and Ethel Harkleroad. He graduated from Rainier High School in Rainier Oregon in 1966. Following graduation, he chose to enlist in the Marines and served in active combat in Vietnam where he was the recipient of the purple heart and numerous other accommodations. He met and married his wife of 31 years, Susan (Clark) Harkleroad on April 1, 1993, where they blended their families.

Larry retired from a 20+ year career as a Kaymer operator at Fibre in Longview, WA around 2009. He enjoyed hunting trips with his dad and son as well as his dogs. He loved random trips with his loving wife. Although his favorite past time was making his kids and grandkids laugh at his outrageous stories. He loved his peanut butter and sneaking his dog’s treats.

Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Keith, his mother and his father. He is survived by his wife, Susan of Knappa, Oregon, his children Darrell Harkleroad of Toutle, WA, Katie and Scott Crape of Rainier, OR, Jessica Harkleroad of Kelso, WA, Tana Kyser of Rainier, OR and Barbara Chartrand of Vancouver, WA, His 17 grandchildren as well as 13 great children, his sister Julie Bledsoe of Castle Rock, WA and his brother Neil Harkleroad of Rainier, OR, his niece Kara Clarke of Castle Rock, WA and nephew Ryan Bledsoe of Kelso, WA.

Larry was, and will always be, loved, honored and missed. His stories are legendary, although mostly made up and his orneriness made him the funniest to be around. He is greatly missed.
