Jody Denise Lusk, 45, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at her home in Doty, Washington. Jody was a lifelong Doty resident, born to Les and Jackie (Slaughter) Lusk in Bremerton, Washington.
Following high school graduation, she went on to complete truck driving school, and earned her degree in Criminal Justice.
Jody, also known as 'Jo Jo' or 'Aunty Jo,' was a wonderful soul that lit up the room when she walked in. Caring and kind, Jody would help anybody in need without hesitation. She was such a funny girl; she loved to make people laugh and had a great sense of humor. Jody loved all animals, especially her 5 dogs and horses.
She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Her pasttimes included working on her little farm and raising horses, cows, and dogs.
She was a hard worker with a great work ethic- finding joy in working as a log truck driver, chip truck driver, dump truck driver, correctional officer, and most recently, a crime victims' advocate.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jack and Erma Slaughter and Ernest and Louise Lusk; and cousin, Andy Anderson.
Jody is lovingly remembered by her parents, Les and Jackie of Doty; sister, Cherie (Terence) Lusk Wright of Renton; nephews, Jackson and Vaughn, also of Renton; and many, many other family members and friends that will miss her dearly.
A celebration of Jody's life will be announced at a later date.
